My plan was to finally finish up a platoon of British Airborne for Bolt Action, but then Dave G. suggested a small escalation league series of games for Kings of War (500 – 750 – 1000 – 1250 points with a game every three weeks).
The idea of finally getting to use my (woefully expensive, mostly eBay purchased) out of production GW WHFB 5th Edition Dogs of War figures for something was too tempting to say no to. These are the older style, Perry-sculpted, more “cartoony” WHFB figs. That, plus the mix of fantasy races in the same army (human/elf/orc/undead/etc.) really appeals to me.
Also, I plan on using these pseudo-renaissance Italians as the “bad guys” in the Assassin’s Creed homebrew skirmish game I’ve been planning for ages, so win-win.
Here’s the first 500 points worth (1x Regiment of Crossbow, 1x Regiment of Pike, 2x Troops of Knights), cleaned and based:
The WWII figs will have to wait a while longer.
