One of the most wonderful times of the year

Although I’ve been hit by this same cold/flu that’s affecting lots of folks lately, I wasn’t feeling too terrible yesterday morning so I loaded up on cold meds and spent most of the day at RickFest, a fun day of board and card gaming with lots of friends old and new, organized by Rick Neal (who did a bang-up job hosting, bringing out many gaming options, and providing a really nice vegetarian chili and other snacks).

My son joined in for most of the day, and we got to try a couple of games we hadn’t played before (and that he’s expressed an interest in trying again).

I played Forbidden Island, Tokaido, Werewolf, Ticket to Ride, Battlestar Galactica, and Settlers of Cataan.

It was great fun, but unfortunately the meds wore off about an hour before I left. By the time I got home I was wrecked, and was up for several hours coughing and sneezing. Made it through half the day at work today and had to give up and go home to rest up. Bah.
