A brief, but grateful, commercial message

3soldiersHaving started selling wargaming miniatures, accessories, and rules in 1995, my business Saber’s Edge Hobbies and Games recently had its 19th anniversary. Back then, many historical miniatures suppliers were still selling from printed catalogues that only rarely had photos, and very few had an online presence.

Although I have huge appreciation for all my suppliers and publishers, I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge two in particular.

Chipco Games

Curtis Wright and Charles “Chip” Harrison of Chipco Games out of California provided the first product Saber’s Edge offered for sale, the fast play Napoleonics rules “Le Petit Empereur”; they’ve expanded their range several times over since those early days, and both our businesses have evolved together, as Saber’s Edge transitioned from physical products to PDF downloads as the main line of business a few years ago. It’s been a pleasure working with them for the last 19 years, and–although we’ve never met face-to-face, I consider them friends.

Complete Wargame Packages / Canadian Wargamers Group

Bruce McFarlane is a renowned Canadian wargaming rules author, and we’ve offered his products for many years. First via his current publishing entity, Complete Wargame Packages, and more recently through working with Bruce to bring back the Canadian Wargamers Group books that had become somewhat difficult to source over the last few years. It’s a privilege to bring his well-regarded books to the marketplace and to now offer the full range–especially those with a Canadian focus.

I’m always interested to talk with authors and publishers about their products. If you have a PDF ready gaming rulebook, reference, or accessory that you’d like to consider selling via Saber’s Edge, then please get in touch.
